Hello friends and supporters of A Fairer World,
Following our recent Annual General Meeting, I’m excited and honoured to introduce myself as President.
The committee and I are extremely thankful for the hard work and commitment of Suzanne Schulz, who stepped down as President at our recent AGM after two years in the role. We’re grateful that Suze will stay with AFW and continue to contribute her experience. Thank you, Suze!
The 2026 committee joining me in steering AFW to continued success are Suzanne Schulz (Vice President), Meahd Farnaby (Vice President), Herman Yap (Treasurer), Emma Dickson (Secretary), and Sarah Standen, and we warmly welcome two new committee members, Trenton Hoare and Chris Barrell.
Together, they bring accounting, legal, HR, governance, communications, marketing and community leadership experience. It’s an outstanding group who I know will bring energy, expertise and care.
And, we’re getting straight to work with a fundraising campaign!
Running a charity like ours isn’t without cost. The support of our members is crucial to ensure the basics can be met, from stationery to keeping the lights on.
But, we want to be more, and do more.
There’s never been a more important time for our work, and more need for our programs that promote inclusion, understanding, respect and empathy.
And there’s no doubt that A Fairer World has impact, through powerful lived-experience storytelling that changes minds and changes lives.
That’s why we’re launching our “zero discrimination” fundraising drive, aiming to raise $20,000 by Harmony Day, 21 March 2026.
Can you help us reach our target? Every dollar counts!
Look out for our social media posts, share with your friends and networks, and please donate if you can.
I look forward to working with our committee to support our incredible staff team, and towards the continued strength, great work and growth of this remarkable and unique organisation.
Kindly,
Samantha

At A Fairer World, we’re dedicated to building diversity, inclusion, and social justice. Through our various programs, such as the Hobart human library and community outreach initiatives, we strive to dismantle barriers and cultivate empathy and understanding among individuals from all walks of life. The stories of resilience and triumph shared within our Hobart human library, each story serves as a powerful testament to the strength of the human spirit.
To read more inspiring stories host a Hobart human library forum.
But our mission doesn’t stop there. We believe in taking action to create tangible change in our communities. That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of our Hobart human library forum initiative, where schools and workplaces can host their own human library events. By bringing together individuals with diverse backgrounds and lived experiences, these forums provide a platform for dialogue and understanding, fostering a culture of empathy and inclusion.
