About This Campaign
Dear friends and supporters of A Fairer World,
A record number of discrimination complaints were made in Tasmania last financial year, including complaints related to disability, race, gender and age.
There’s never been a more important time for our work, and more need for our programs that promote inclusion, understanding, respect and empathy.
Now, more than ever, we need understanding and respect to build a fairer world.
Can you help us?
Running a charity like ours isn’t without cost. The support of our members is crucial to ensure the basics can be met, from stationery to keeping the lights on.
But we want to be more, and do more.
With your support, we aim to raise $20,000 by 30 June 2026.
A Fairer World is a registered Tasmanian charity, home to the Hobart human library.
We seek a future where everyone belongs, and inclusive communities thrive – a fairer world.
Our human library “books” share personal stories that celebrate diversity and promote understanding and inclusion, in community groups, schools and workplaces across Tasmania. Because real change starts with learning: learning that’s engaging, reflective, and based on lived experience.
In 2024-25 we reached almost 2000 students across 15 schools, and more than 300 readers across Tasmanian workplaces.
“I have seen first-hand how these programs foster empathy, challenge prejudice, and build inclusive school communities” - Janelle Reeves, Principal Huonville High School
Help us reach even more Tasmanians in 2026 as we work to build A Fairer World!
Yours kindly,
Gabe Gartrell, Acting CEO

At A Fairer World, we rely on donations to deliver our programs that promote inclusion, diversity, and respect. As a not-for-profit organisation, these contributions are essential to sustaining the work we do in schools, workplaces, and communities across Tasmania.
Your support directly funds initiatives like the Hobart Human Library and diversity training workshops in schools and workplaces — helping us challenge prejudice, build understanding, and create lasting change. Donations also allow us to train human ‘books,’ reach rural areas, and develop innovative programs that empower individuals and strengthen communities.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us continue our mission of building a fairer, more inclusive world.
