Students at Windermere Primary School are certainly living up to their school values with Grade 6 students recently undertaking Diversity and Inclusion training with A Fairer World’s Hobart human library.

100% of students attending the sessions said that they would be more inclusive after attending the session and the teachers rated the overall quality and the usefulness of the sessions at 100%.

Thank you to the students of Windermere Primary for being such excellent listeners and asking such great questions of our lived experience story tellers. Some of the key learnings from the session included “Never judge someone for their difference”, “exclusion can hurt people for stuff they don’t choose or were born with” and “I learnt that people are not all the same and you may not see the struggles people have”.

This important work in schools is funded by Department for Education, Children and Young People

The stories of resilience and triumph shared within our Hobart Human Library, each story serves as a powerful testament to the strength of the human spirit.
