Stories That Spark Inclusion at Rosny College

The A Fairer World team had a fantastic time delivering an Inclusion Forum at Rosny College recently.

Through the stories of our human ‘books’, students explored what it can feel like to experience exclusion, as well as the impacts of unconscious bias, limited understanding of diversity and the importance of empathy.

Students were highly engaged, asking thoughtful, curious and considerate questions, which our human ‘books’ answered with honesty, positivity and wisdom.

One student reflected: “I learnt it’s important not to make assumptions, especially negative ones.” Another said, “It’s not just about recognising inclusion, it’s also about taking action.”

These sessions give young people a valuable opportunity to listen, learn and connect through lived experience – helping to build empathy, challenge assumptions and break down barriers.

Inclusion Forum funded by Department for Education, Children and Young People, delivered by A Fairer World, and are designed to teach students and teachers about inclusion and diversity through the power of storytelling.
