Have you experienced prejudice or discrimination?
Are you interested in raising community awareness?
Learn to use your lived experience to effectively engage audience empathy and create social change.
A Fairer World is running a training course for people who have experienced prejudice or stereotyping, perhaps as a result of, but not limited to, age, race, sex or disability. This is an exciting opportunity to build your public speaking skills with the option to become a community educator.
Dates and time: 9:30am to 3:00 pm, Wednesday 13th & 20th Nov
The course is free and will run over two 6 hours sessions over 2 successive weeks.
Over these sessions, you will be guided by a trained storyteller to write and present your lived experience story, confidently and safely to different audiences.
At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate and be eligible to be a human ‘book’ in the Hobart Human Library. This means telling your story with others in schools and workplaces, for which you will receive an honorarium.
